In Cayman, we have a lovely 4-day weekend.\u00a0 On that 4-day week-end, many caymanians hit the beaches, for the entire time. Let me explain &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>There is a tradition (not sure how it started &#8230;) where the locals go camping from Thursday PM (or Friday AM) until Monday PM.\u00a0 Whole families &amp; groups of families find the best spots, bring tents, tarps for the rain, BBQ&#8217;s and the more sophisticated ones rent port-o-potties and even generators.\u00a0 As for us, we&#8217;ll sleep in our bed with the A\/C thank you very much! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Here is a small setup of just one test on Seven-Mile beach.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-918\" title=\"img_7495-1\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7495-1.jpg\" alt=\"img_7495-1\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7495-1.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7495-1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This seems to be 2-3 families and behind the tents was their rented potty!\u00a0 They had a BBQ &amp; lots of gear for the week-end, a make-shift shower, etc.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-919\" title=\"img_7496-1\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7496-1.jpg\" alt=\"img_7496-1\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7496-1.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7496-1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-920\" title=\"img_7497-1\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7497-1.jpg\" alt=\"img_7497-1\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7497-1.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7497-1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While venturing around today, we noticed that many cotton plants were &#8230; well, showing cotton for lack of a better term.\u00a0 There does not appear to be any organized growing here in Cayman, since all the plants\u00a0 we say today were on vacant lots.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-917\" title=\"img_7490\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7490.jpg\" alt=\"img_7490\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7490.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_7490-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Last but not least &#8230; I saw the largest snake I have even seen in Cayman and it was right on our front lawn. I estimate the it was 2.5-3ft long and the size of a garden hose at its largest.
