{"id":894,"date":"2009-03-28T22:37:39","date_gmt":"2009-03-29T03:37:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=894"},"modified":"2009-03-29T15:23:53","modified_gmt":"2009-03-29T20:23:53","slug":"dog-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=894","title":{"rendered":"Dog show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As every year since we got here, I took Aipa this morning to the annual Cayman Islands dog show.\u00a0 About 150-200 dogs (and their owners of course) showed up for this event which is to raise funds for the local humane society (an equivalent to the SPCA). Dogs from all walks of life and all kinds were there.\u00a0 Some arrive in more style than others though &#8230; \u00a0 I saw one dog riding shotgun in his owners Porsche 911 ; riding in style \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Here I am with Aipa in the ring getting judged for one of the contests. No prizes today.\u00a0 There is some heavy favoritism for dog with 3-legs &amp; other ailments.\u00a0 That&#8217;s OK .. they probably deserve it!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-897\" title=\"img_7432-1\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/img_7432-1.jpg\" alt=\"img_7432-1\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/img_7432-1.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/img_7432-1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These guys were quite popular with the kids (everyone actually) So cute!!!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-896\" title=\"img_7425-1\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/img_7425-1.jpg\" alt=\"img_7425-1\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/img_7425-1.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/img_7425-1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This gives a good idea of the setup (and my friend Sau&#8217;s backside &#8230;)\u00a0 and the people that showed up with their pooches on a Saturday AM.\u00a0 Here her dog is being &#8220;evaluated&#8221; by the judges.\u00a0 Its mostly petting the dogs, hearing about their story (many of the dogs there are rescued dogs) and chatting a bit with the owners.
