For anyone who is a history buff like myself, Malta has a\u00a0large amount of it.\u00a0 From the Ottoman empire, to Napoleon and the Second world war, Malta&#8217;s strategic location in the Mediterranean has made it an important location for centuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here is yours truly in Valetta, overlooking the harbour.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/img_6043.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-638\" title=\"img_6043\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/img_6043.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/img_6043.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/img_6043-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here, my childhood friend Mathieu and his GF Lydia joined me for a few days.\u00a0 They had planned a trip to Italy and made a &#8220;detour&#8221; to Malta when I told them I would be there for a few days for a conference. I am also glad that there were no storms during our time outside of Cayman.\u00a0 The shutters were all up &amp; ready for a storm, but I greatly prefer that nothing at all happened.
