{"id":631,"date":"2008-09-17T16:24:58","date_gmt":"2008-09-17T21:24:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=631"},"modified":"2008-09-17T16:32:56","modified_gmt":"2008-09-17T21:32:56","slug":"mosquito-plane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=631","title":{"rendered":"Mosquito plane"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got lots of emails about the mosquito plane that i filmed at night a few weeks ago.\u00a0 Before going home today I went for the final two dives for the open water diver certification.\u00a0 All done and passed the exam! \ud83d\ude42 I really enjoy diving ; very relaxing.<\/p>\n<p>Upon returning home, I noticed that the mosquito plane was out and was &#8220;buzzing&#8221; by our house repeatedly. So with my digicam I went outside and he passed again a few moments after. He is passing again right now as I type this! I assume its some sort of training or a massive mosquito that just wont die.<\/p>\n<p><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/5u8a2612r3o\" \/><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/5u8a2612r3o\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>On another note, a lovely couple that I met earlier this week has started to build a new house in the vacant next to ours.\u00a0 As you will see from the pictures below, the base of the house is very different from what I have seen in Canada.\u00a0 Remember, there are no basements here, so they dont need to go deep.<\/p>\n<p>First, they dug a trench that is about 12-18 inches deep at most and then put in steel rods.\u00a0 In a few days they will pour concrete to make the initial foundation.\u00a0 Nothing is poured outside of that trench.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/img_6015.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-633\" title=\"img_6015\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/img_6015.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/img_6015.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/img_6015-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once the concrete is in place, these concrete blocks (see below) will be &#8220;threaded&#8221; into the steel bars ; from what I have seen in other constructions there will be 3-4 high.\u00a0 Then inside those blocks they will fill with compacted earth and cover with more poured concrete to make the floor and complete the foundation.
