{"id":3127,"date":"2016-06-26T20:52:33","date_gmt":"2016-06-27T01:52:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=3127"},"modified":"2024-10-10T18:16:36","modified_gmt":"2024-10-10T23:16:36","slug":"add-this-to-your-to-do-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=3127","title":{"rendered":"Add this to your To-Do list"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week-end I visited one of Cayman&#8217;s newest attractions : I was not disappointed. \u00a0This place only opened in January 2016 and is quickly becoming one of Cayman&#8217;s top tourist (and locals &#8230;) neat things to do. \u00a0The attraction is called &#8220;Crystal Caves&#8221; and is located on Grand Cayman&#8217;s North Side. \u00a0Well worth the drive out. \u00a0As the name implies, you will be going into some caves.<\/p>\n<p>Before we head out, they made a lovely deck area which is right in the forest. \u00a0Very nice.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?attachment_id=3128\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3128\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3128\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_1555.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1555\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_1555.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_1555-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ok so we head out into the caves. \u00a0 During the visit, which is guided, we get to visit 3 different caves. \u00a0Each one very interesting. Here we are in the 1st cave &#8211; right away people were in awe that we have this in Cayman. We were told its all fresh water, which is quite rare in Cayman.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?attachment_id=3135\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3135\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3135\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_1637.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1637\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_1637.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_1637-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Upon exiting the 3rd cave, we had this awesome sight. This fig tree &#8211; which I&#8217;ll assume is very old, has some very spectacular roots. \u00a0Note that the tree &#8220;sits&#8221; on top of the cave and that the roots then go down towards the ground via the air. \u00a0Quite a sight.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?attachment_id=3136\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3136\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3136\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_1661.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1661\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_1661.jpg 360w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_1661-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The tour lasts +-90 minutes and is OK for kids and anyone who is able to walk a few hundred meters. I do recommend you wear proper shoes and not flip flops. \u00a0Also, if you want to be able to take decent pictures, I recommend you bring a &#8220;proper&#8221; camera if you have one.
