{"id":2388,"date":"2013-04-26T22:09:06","date_gmt":"2013-04-27T03:09:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=2388"},"modified":"2013-04-26T22:09:06","modified_gmt":"2013-04-27T03:09:06","slug":"when-in-rome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=2388","title":{"rendered":"When in Rome &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week I had the privilege of visiting the lovely island of Bermuda.<\/p>\n<p>The first thing I would say is that its a really nice place ; in part I have to say its a lot like Cayman. \u00a0The buildings are very &#8220;British Colonial&#8221; and the overall feel of the place is safe, clean and and overall nice place. \u00a0Where it differs is that it is somewhat &#8220;hilly&#8221; although there are no mountains.<\/p>\n<p>One other big difference is the number of scooters that are around. \u00a0In Bermuda the law states that there can only be one car per residence. \u00a0So most people have a scooter to get around town. \u00a0Its funny to see ladies with high heels and executives in suits on their little Honda scooter zipping around town.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a scooter parking lot in downtown Hamilton. \u00a0Everywhere you look there are scooters parked in the street.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2680.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2389\" alt=\"IMG_2680\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2680.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2680.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2680-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Right in Hamilton, the world headquarters of Bacardi ; who knew! \u00a0This sure was lovely ; note the dual waterfalls. \u00a0Also, the lawn was one of the most perfectly manicured I have ever seen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2682.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2390\" alt=\"IMG_2682\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2682.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2682.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2682-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>View from &#8220;Blu&#8221; restaurant of Pitts Bay. \u00a0Very nice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2683.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2391\" alt=\"IMG_2683\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2683.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2683.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2683-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I saw quite a few of these when going for a run one morning. (note : running in Bermuda with the hills is soooo much more difficult than Cayman). \u00a0 \u00a0Cutting though this rock to make the roads must have been quite a job.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2685.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2392\" alt=\"IMG_2685\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2685.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2685.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_2685-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ok &#8230; the finale. \u00a0 As the title of my post says &#8220;When in Rome &#8230; &#8221; so I dressed like the Bermudians \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0This is acceptable business attire here.
