They call these winter systems &#8220;Nor&#8217;westers&#8221; since they come from (you guessed it &#8230; ) the north-west. \u00a0They are remnants of winter systems in the US and mainly affect (wait for it &#8230;) the north western parts of the Island ; in essence Seven Mile Beach and George Town.<\/p>\n<p>So this Sunday morning I went for a drive to see what all the fuss is about ; very choppy indeed!<\/p>\n<p>Here is Seven Mile beach. \u00a0 Lots of large waves and not a soul in the water.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_2564.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2337\" alt=\"IMG_2564\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_2564.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_2564.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_2564-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a>&#8216;<\/p>\n<p>For your next vacation here, I hope you did not plan to stay at the former Courtyard Marriott! \u00a0The place is now simply a shell and they plan to completely tear it down and build a new luxury hotel.
