In fact I &#8220;only&#8221; run the 1\/2 Marathon (21.1km \/ 13.1 Miles) \u00a0This year was the \u00a010th year of the event and my second of this event.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, the day before the race, was the pickup of our number and\u00a0goodies\u00a0bag. \u00a0This was done at the Marriott and due to the numerous\u00a0volunteers, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. \u00a0Here is a shot of my friend Sean at the pickup. \u00a0Good job sir and to all your colleagues.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG-20121201-00132.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2243\" title=\"IMG-20121201-00132\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG-20121201-00132.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG-20121201-00132.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG-20121201-00132-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The always popular goodie bag was once again filled with quite a variety of things, including the &#8220;tech shirt&#8221; (i.e: polyester), sunglasses, sunscreen, cell phone arm band, etc. \u00a0 Great stuff.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG-20121201-00134.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2244\" title=\"IMG-20121201-00134\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG-20121201-00134.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG-20121201-00134.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG-20121201-00134-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Included with the registration was a coupon for a &#8220;pasta loading&#8221; supper the evening before. For those who run, it is a well known fact that pasta is a must the evening\/day before the race. \u00a0So, being a sucker for a free meal, I obliged and made my way to Breezes (ocean\/harbor front) in George Town Saturday PM. \u00a0 Here is a sample of one of the 2 plates of pasta I took. (it is &#8220;officially certified&#8221; so they\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0change it around) The official certification is important since a runner can use the result of this race to qualify for other races where you need to run a certain time\/speed in order to be able to participate (e.g: Boston Marathon)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/half.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2242\" title=\"half\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/half.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"263\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/half.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/half-300x164.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My result: 40th out of 650 runners in 1h43mins 58 seconds.
