{"id":1751,"date":"2011-09-17T13:05:53","date_gmt":"2011-09-17T18:05:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=1751"},"modified":"2011-09-17T13:09:04","modified_gmt":"2011-09-17T18:09:04","slug":"abort","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=1751","title":{"rendered":"Abort"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When flying back to Cayman a few days ago,\u00a0 I experienced something new : an aborted landing.\u00a0 What happened was that just a few hundred meters from the runway, a massive rain started and obviously hampered visibility.\u00a0\u00a0 I had a window seat and the rain was hitting the wings quite violently.\u00a0 It is rainy season right now, so this is not totally unexpected.\u00a0 However, what always amazes me is that these isolated showers are generally small clusters of a massive amount of rain.\u00a0\u00a0 10 minutes and its all done &#8230; and we are all wet. So the pilot hit the gas and we went up, out of the weather and cruised around for a little while.<\/p>\n<p>Of course I got some pictures of this event!\u00a0 My trusty compact Canon camera is never far away.
