{"id":1649,"date":"2011-06-26T10:39:02","date_gmt":"2011-06-26T15:39:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=1649"},"modified":"2011-06-26T10:39:02","modified_gmt":"2011-06-26T15:39:02","slug":"things-are-blooming-and-ripening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=1649","title":{"rendered":"Things are blooming and ripening!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Summer is here and its quite obvious.\u00a0 Although rain has been quite rare (ask all swimming pool owners &#8230; they count on summer rain to keep their swimming pools full.\u00a0 If no rain with lots of heat, the water evaporates and the pool then needs to be filled with the hose which costs $$$) things are growing lots.<\/p>\n<p>First, the Royal Poinciana&#8217;s are in full bloom.\u00a0 These have got to be my favorite trees here.\u00a0 I love it every year how brilliant orange they get.\u00a0\u00a0 When driving east towards Savannah, they overhang over Shamrock road is awesome. I guess they are used to having people around all day since its a busy location.\u00a0\u00a0 I also suspect they get fed since the government employees had a small water bowl out for them.\u00a0 I did some research (aka : googled it) and it turns out that these are somewhat endangered (although not critically) and are indigenous to most of the Caribbean islands.<\/p>\n<p>Last thing ; I saw this at a local supermarket.
