I honestly don&#8217;t remember.\u00a0 I did get to see the progression though ; my office is in the building just to the right in the picture.\u00a0 I took this picture late Saturday morning, so there was very little traffic on the newly redone Elgin Ave.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0111.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1568\" title=\"IMG_0111\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0111.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0111.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0111-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the government house (and many other places on the island where there is a new building or large home), you can find newly planted palms.\u00a0 I asked a landscaper I know and he told me that palms like these are imported from the USA.\u00a0 They can cost anywhere from 3000-10000$ each depending on the height\/size\/type.\u00a0 Who knew palms could cost so much. \u00a0 But thinking about it,\u00a0 I guess it makes sense since shipping these must be somewhat complicated; probably cant go cargo in Cayman Airways!\u00a0 Since they are so tall, its frequent to see newly planted palms with stilts till they have time to develop their roots.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0114.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1570\" title=\"IMG_0114\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0114.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0114.jpg 360w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0114-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next &#8230; I had the opportunity to see this marvel of landscaping.\u00a0 An awesome pool with a waterfall.\u00a0 Notice the bottom of the pool is black\/gray ; awesome.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0124.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1571\" title=\"IMG_0124\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0124.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0124.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0124-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Needless to say I had to test the &#8220;funness&#8221; of this fall.
