I was in Nassau last week.\u00a0 Very nice place ; similar in many points to Grand Cayman : quite developed, flat terrain, nice beaches and a very quick flight from Miami.<\/p>\n<p>While in Nassau (which is on the island of New Providence &#8211; pop +-300,000) I had a little bit of time to tour and see the sights.\u00a0 My first activity on the week-end was to do a Segway tour!\u00a0 Oh what fun that was!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0091.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1515\" title=\"IMG_0091\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0091.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0091.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0091-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Its essentially a 2h trek on an abandoned\u00a0 lot that leads to a very pretty beach.\u00a0 The real fun is riding the Segway. Apparently the project cost 3M$. I guess with the number of tourists that come to town on those mega-ships, its probably an investment that will pay off relatively fast.\u00a0 Wonder what they will do with all of that sand.\u00a0 I assume they will move it in relatively short order since any hurricane would put all of that sand right back where it came from.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0098.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1517\" title=\"IMG_0098\" src=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0098.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0098.jpg 480w, https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/IMG_0098-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While walking around town, I noticed an oil tanker coming towards port. I highly recommend it.\u00a0 Its definitely different that just staying at the beach, reasonably priced and lots of fun.
