{"id":1220,"date":"2010-06-08T21:24:13","date_gmt":"2010-06-09T02:24:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=1220"},"modified":"2010-06-08T21:24:13","modified_gmt":"2010-06-09T02:24:13","slug":"wreck-of-the-rhone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/micho.org\/cayblog\/?p=1220","title":{"rendered":"Wreck of the Rhone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In my recent trips, I had a few days in the lovely British Virgin Islands.\u00a0 Great place!\u00a0 Well, in BVI there is a fabulous wreck dive to be done.\u00a0 Its the wreck of the RMS Rhone which sank in 1867 during a hurricane.\u00a0 Along with the 310-ft ship, over 100 people lost their lives in this maritime disaster.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on this fascinating story, see:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/RMS_Rhone\">http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/RMS_Rhone<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today, she is one of the most popular wreck dives in the world.\u00a0 The movie &#8220;The deep&#8221; with Nick Nolte was largely filmed at this wreck.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some pictures of two (the wreck is so big that it takes two dives to see the whole things) dives I did.\u00a0 The stern is in +-80ft of water and the bow in +-50ft. There is even mention of Fang in the Wikipedia page. Impressive!\u00a0 The legend is that if you (the diver) rub your hand on it in a circular clockwise motion it will bring good luck.
