As most of you know, we are taking our dog & bird.\u00a0 Many tests & procedures have to be followed.\u00a0 The dog’s “biggest” test was the RFFIT test.\u00a0 Its basically a test that proves she has the rabies antibodies.\u00a0 Cayman requires this since they are a “rabies free territory”.\u00a0 Easy right?\u00a0 NOT.\u00a0 First, 6 months ago we had a microchip implemented into her\u00a0; its basically a unique identifier, similar to a tatoo.\u00a0 Then we had to get two rabies shots 6 months apart.\u00a0 Then after 6 months & two weeks, we had a blood sample drawn for the RFFIT test.\u00a0\u00a0Once that is drawn, we had to ship the sample via FedEx overnight to Kansas State University.\u00a0 Turns out this is the only place in North America that does this test.\u00a0 So we had to get a small cooler (10$), order dry ice (55$)\u00a0to keep the sample cold over night & more in case it got caught up at US Customs, FedEx\u00a0this whole thing (130$) and pay for the test\u00a0(50$). \u00a0Now, tell me I dont love our dog! \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 Oh yeah, the test results are great!\u00a0 She can be taken to Cayman.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
