We often go for sunset walks on Seven mile beach ; its a great place for a stroll and the sunsets are often breathtaking.
When we go for walks on Saturdays, there are usually one and sometimes two weddings going on. Either we see the actual celebration, the photo sessions or the meal with tables setup on the beach. I highly recommend this for someone thinking of having a wedding in the Caribbean or just want something different ; people seem to have a great time and the fabulous blue ocean and white sand make for great pictures.
In any case, as I was walking down Seven Mile Beach this Saturday evening, there was a rather large group of people, including a new bride and groom having their pictures taken. As I walked by, some of them seemed to notice my Husky Aipa … bear with me, you will see where I am going with this.
Aipa & I kept on walking for 10 minutes or so and then doubled back. As we approached again the wedding group, the groom left the picture session and came to see me asking if they could borrow my dog for some pictures! Well, that’s a first! Of course, I accepted, and here are the results.
Thanks to the photographer, David Wolfe, for sending these to me! He does many wedding & corporate type shoots on the Island. He can be found at http://www.davidwolfephotography.com
I don’t know either the bride or the groom, but if they ever read this, wish them much happyness in their lives together and hopefully they have or will get a dog for their household.
In closing this post, I dont think this could have happened in a big city or the likes. The fun and happy beach setting is perfect for this kind of encounter!
those photos turned out great… i love bot the bride and grooms facial expressions… you can tell they where having a great time…
Micho,
Wow – I can’t believe you put us on your blog – what an honor! (I got the link from David Wolfe’s site). Thank you for your kind words and for letting us pose with Aipa in our pictures – what a beautiful Husky! We are huge animal lovers and I had often told my husband before our wedding that I wish we would be able to have a dog in a wedding photo with us – and then it happened! We have 2 cats, once we get a house with a yard, we plan to get a dog. Thanks again! 🙂
Sincerely,
Jenny Wamsat
Hi Jenny,
Thanks for your comments. I am glad Aipa could be a part of your special day.
Take care 🙂
Micho
Hey Micho,
I have read every month so far posted because my husband & I are interested in moving to the caymans. Due to several closures of banks in our small area, I am now an unemployed bank manager. I am enrolled in a 60 week program this fall and when completed we want to leave the area and of course we love the tropics. We take a vacation or two every year to the sunny south. Several trips to Florida, Mexico, Cuba, Dominican, Bahamas, and 5 cruises. We do realize that vacation and living down there are two different things but we have been doing our research and we are still convinced that this move is for us. I read the cayman news everyday(and listen to the cayman radio)and there seems to be a lot of jobs posted. Are these jobs posted but already have someone in mind for them? Or are they really open for all to apply? How bad are the insects?(I watched the plane videos) When they say tax free, is it really? Is your paycheque free & clear? Are Medical plans available or expensive if not offered through work? We do have a few more questions but any info you can supply us with would be greatful. We love reading your blog, it makes us feel like we are there. We have had a few warm days but today is grey and only gives a high of 13. We live in the tourist town called St. Andrews, NB. It is a very pretty town and busy in the summer. We moved here five years ago to be closer to the ocean and hustle and bustle of tourists but still not good enough, we want to be there!
